2020 Petit Verdot

Petit Verdot is a classic Bordeaux varietal more commonly used as a blending grape - it is rare to find a singular expression on its own. This wine opens with rich Maraschino cherry on the nose, a hint of freshly cut cedarwood and crushed lilacs. Followed by a sultry palate of wild blueberry, spiced cranberry and bright acidity reminiscent of sour cherry. This wine has a delightful savory aspect with hints of sage and inky iodine on the back end. Bold, structured tannins mellow out into a soft finish with fresh plums and olallieberry. This wine is tasting great in its youth but will also benefit from several years of bottle aging.
